New Beginnings, a Podcast, and a Giveaway...

You may have noticed that I changed my blog name from Attorney to Temp to Legally Obligated.  I did this because I am no longer a temp, and I'm no longer just transitioning out of practicing law, but I still feel compelled to tell my story and to support other people who are deep in student loan debt.  So I thought Legally Obligated would be a more appropriate name.  Anyway, here is my first podcast!  (Scroll to the bottom to listen.)  Hopefully it will help me reach more people who are going through the same things I did.  I experienced some technical difficulties, but I think the next one will be smooth sailing.  So apologies for any volume level variations and such.

My first podcast includes my take on the U.S. News Law School rankings that were released last week, plus a story about an encounter I had with a woman who is considering going to law school, and some other
fun stuff.  I also include instructions for how to enter my blog giveaway (don't worry, it's really easy).  This week, I am giving away a copy of Dave Ramsey's book, The Total Money Makeover, along with some
envelopes and labels for getting started on the envelope system.  If you're in debt like I was, it might be  up your alley!

Next week, my podcast will include an interview with a former law school classmate, who has successfully transitioned into a non-legal position.  I am interviewing him tomorrow afternoon, so if you have any particular questions you'd like me to ask him, please leave a comment or email me (recovering.lawyer1@gmail.com) and I will try to fit it into the interview.

Here are the rules for my blog sweepstakes:

1.  No purchase necessary and void where prohibited.

4.  On or about March 29, 2013, at 12:00 p.m., I will randomly select the winner by placing the names of the entrants into a hat and picking one out (high tech, I know).  I will announce the winner on my blog on Saturday, March 30, and I will email the winner as well.
5.  Only one entry per person is permitted.
6.  The prize is:  a hard-cover copy of The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey, a set of blue Gartner envelopes (quantity 50), and a package of Post-it multi-use labels (quantity 40).  The approximate retail value is $25.
7.  If my site goes down, or I experience other technical issues that last at least 12 hours, I will extend the entry period until a date to be determined.
8.  If I am unable to contact the first selected winner (if an invalid email address is given or no email address is provided, or if the winner fails to reply to my email with their delivery info within 24 hours), then I will randomly select another winner.
9.  Once the winner contacts me with their delivery info, I will mail the prize within 2 business days via first-class mail.  I will only accept entries from U.S. residents, and I will only ship to a U.S. address.
